Despite my prior plans, I have decided to sharpen at the Farmer’s Market this Saturday. I will be there in from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Bring your knives, scissors, and other edge instruments. This will be my last weekend at the Farmer’s Market for awhile. The next four weekends I will be doing gun shows:

July 6 & 7: Waxahachie (Civic Center)
July 13 & 14: Cleburne
July 20 & 27: Corsicana

The nice people at Premier Gun Shows are having a 1200+ table show this weekend in Fort Worth at the Amon Carter Exhibit Hall in the Will Rogers Center. Tim and Michelle Finucane are some of the nicest promoters in the business. Their show’s vendor lists and return rates reflect this, as well as the quality of the guns and knives at the show. The Premier Gun Shows are some of the hardest to get into. Although I will not be able to attend the show this weekend, I highly encourage you to go to the show. It will be one of the best shows of the year. Good luck and have a happy weekend!

I listed 10 of my knives and 1 custom leather sheath on ebay this week. I started each of the knives out at $0.99 with no reserve. Bidding has been slow. There are about 4 days left. The Mastersmith’s Mastersmith!
I met Jim Crowell at either Warren Osborne’s First Cutting School or at the ABS Hammer In, I can’t remember which. He made a lasting impression on me. He is a true renaissance man. He has been an American Bladesmith Mastersmith for 25 years. He was one of the original teachers at the Bill Moran School of Bladesmithing in Washington, Arkansas. He is truly the Mastersmith’s Mastersmith. He makes a beautiful knife and has several cutting competition champion awards to his credit. When I saw that he had made a set of instructional videos, I had to repost them. If anyone is new to knifemaking or bladesmithing, this is the set to buy. I wholeheartedly endorse his DVDs.
